The Tech Lead / Development Lead
-
Corporate Risk Reporting (CRR) role serves as the single technical owner for the CRR platform, accountable for the end-to-end design, development, and technical integrity of the solution. The role ensures that risk logic, data ingestion, and user-facing reporting and analytics are implemented in a coherent, scalable, and correct manner across the full technology stack.

This position owns the technical interpretation and implementation of trading risk logic, with primary hands-on responsibility for SQL-based risk calculations and data layers. The role leads development across SQL, data ingestion, and frontend/backend streams, ensuring that positions, exposures, pricing, and P&L outputs are accurate, performant, and aligned with agreed business definitions.

Working closely with the Senior Business Analyst, Domain Modeler, Engineering Manager, and broader engineering teams, the role ensures that business intent is translated into robust technical designs and that delivery decisions balance correctness, performance, technical debt, and long-term platform sustainability. The role plays a critical part in delivering a trusted, enterprise-grade risk reporting platform for internal risk management users.

Key Accountabilities

End-to-end technical ownership:
-
Acts as the single technical owner for the CRR platform, accountable for solution coherence, correctness, performance, and scalability across all development streams.

SQL risk logic leadership:
-
Leads the design and implementation of SQL-based risk logic, including base, semantic, and reporting data layers, with primary hands-on responsibility for complex transformations and performance tuning.

Cross-stream technical leadership:
-
Provides technical leadership across SQL developers, data engineers, and full stack engineers, ensuring alignment across ingestion, data layers, APIs, and user interfaces.

Risk data correctness and integrity:
-
Ensures consistency and correctness of positions, exposures, pricing, and P&L outputs across end-of-day and reporting use cases.

Architecture and design stewardship:
-
Guides and reviews architectural decisions across database, data ingestion pipelines, Open Search, and .NET/React-based UI and API layers.

Business and domain partnership:
-
Partners closely with the Senior Business Analyst and Domain Modeler to translate business requirements into implementable technical designs, providing feasibility assessment and technical guidance.

Technical risk and debt management:
-
Identifies, assesses, and proactively manages technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt to protect platform stability and long-term maintainability.

Delivery and production readiness:
-
Supports release planning, cutovers, and production readiness, ensuring data availability, performance validation, and operational stability.

Engineering standards and quality:
-
Defines and enforces standards for SQL development, data quality, lineage, DevOps and coding practices, and design patterns across the CRR engineering team.

Mentorship and capability uplift:
Mentors engineers across streams and contributes to raising overall engineering quality, consistency, and technical maturity within the CRR team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement of 10 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 10-15+ years in engineering roles delivering data-intensive or analytics-driven platforms.
- Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream engineering solutions, with deep hands-on responsibility in SQL development.
- Strong experience delivering trading or risk platforms, preferably in commodities or capital markets environments.
- Proven ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with architectural leadership and cross-team influence.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
