This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.

Job Purpose and Impact:

The Dairy Focus Consultant will provide nutrition recommendations and support to customers during and after product sales. In this position, you'll consult directly with dairy farmers and their employees to stay ahead of technology and business practices. You should have a passion for the dairy industry and be comfortable working on farm with dairy farm employees, dairy ownership, and affiliated dairy representatives. In this position you will set performance goals that align with the territory and dairy leadership team objectives and are accountable to work towards those goals.

This is home office position, that requires up to 50% travel to cover the area of responsibility visiting dairy farms daily in the Western Wisconsin and Central Wisconsin area.

  • Key Accountabilities
  • Improve the product performance by providing in depth nutrition advice and training to customers and prospects.
  • Prospect new dairies, build your network and seek business opportunities for territory growth.
  • Monitor and measure the monthly performance of the objectives versus budget and implement actions to reach them.
  • Collaborate with market development on activities including development and delivery of product demonstrations, sales offers and presentations through channel partners and distributors.
  • Participate in team and leadership meetings with any combination of dairy producers, mills, and Cargill teammates.
  • Support Cargill team members through mentorship and training opportunities.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent experience

  • Minimum of four years of related work experience in sales or business development or related field

  • Dairy, feed, animal nutrition and health industry experience

  • Able and willing to travel up to 50% to visit dairy farms daily

  • Valid driver's license in good standing

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in animal nutrition, animal health or related field

  • Two or more years of experience working as a dairy nutrition consultant and technical sales

  • Exposure to on-farm dairy data and capability to analyze and summarize data into meaningful information for the customer in conjunction with your dairy team
