About the Role

This position leads the design and development of AI‑driven capabilities, with a focus on large language models (LLMs) and their integration into Cadence's EDA ecosystem. The engineer will architect intelligent systems that enhance productivity, automate engineering tasks, and augment circuit simulation workflows. Experience with circuit simulation or SPICE‑related technologies is highly desirable. The role also includes guiding technical direction, mentoring junior engineers, and driving innovation across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of AI/LLM‑based features and frameworks for EDA applications
  • Architect scalable systems for model training, inference, and integration with existing tools
  • Collaborate with simulation and analysis teams to incorporate AI into circuit design workflows
  • Explore opportunities to enhance SPICE and related simulation technologies using AI
  • Drive technical strategy, code quality, and best practices across the team
  • Develop automation tools and scripts to improve internal R&D efficiency

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in AI/ML, especially large language models, deep learning frameworks, and model deployment
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Experience with Linux/Unix development environments
  • Background in circuit simulation, SPICE, or EDA tools is a strong plus
  • MS with 2+ years of experience or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to lead complex technical projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams
