Data Scientist

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to join our team and drive impactful, data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating machine learning models that address a wide range of business challenges. You will conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover meaningful trends, generate actionable insights, and identify potential data quality issues that could influence outcomes.

A key part of this position involves building clear, compelling, and effective data visualizations that communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that insights are accessible and actionable. Collaboration is central to the role. You will work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to define requirements and deliver solutions that align with strategic objectives.

You Have:

• 5+ years of experience performing data science analysis, modeling, and data-driven problem solving

• Experience with machine learning, including model development, tuning, and evaluation

• Experience with Python and common data science libraries such as pandas, Num Py, scikit-learn, matplotlib, or seaborn

• Experience with exploratory data analysis and data visualization techniques

• Ability to apply advanced data mining techniques and statistical analysis against large or disparate data sets to extract actionable insights

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to various projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments

• TS/SCI clearance

• HS diploma or GED and 11+ years of experience in data science, Associate's degree and 7+ years of experience in data science, OR Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in data science

Nice If You Have:

• Experience supporting DoD intelligence environments or defense-related analytic missions

• Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks or Palantir Foundry

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS

• Experience with software development practices such as Git or CI/CD

• Experience deploying and operationalizing machine learning models in production environments

• Experience working on classified systems and in resource-limited environments

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
