Quantum Laser Scientist:

As a Quantum Laser Scientist, you'll leverage advanced and specialized physics research expertise to test and analyze physical phenomena, conduct and shape R&D programs, and to support S&T client system development. You will engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide direct quantum technological support. You will mentor and learn from your teammates while deploying engineering solutions through client collaboration and internal projects. You Have:

• Experience working in a laboratory with optics, lasers, photonics, and diagnostic hardware

• Experience performing trade studies, down-selecting hardware, and making practical recommendations

• Experience with a wide range of laser control or locking electronics, optical modulators, and laser system diagnostic tools

• Experience in Python

• Ability to drive practical science and engineering solutions to customer applications

• Ability to implement optical, laser, and atomic physics experiments and perform measurements

• Ability to convey complex concepts to audiences both verbally and in writing

• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience using lasers in atomic physics experiments, or Master's degree and 1+ years of experience using lasers in atomic physics experiments

Nice If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in quantum mechanics, atomic physics, and quantum effects in sensing through industry work, scientific publications, or conference presentations

• Experience leading and managing small to medium-sized projects in engineering, integration, and test

• Experience working in a laboratory with atoms, spectroscopy, and alkali metals

• Experience developing technology business plans and roadmaps, building and managing teams to execute projects, and overseeing resources

• Experience in RF or RF photonics, including software defined radios and low noise amplifiers

• Possession of strong collaborative skills to work effectively with different backgrounds and expertise

• Doctorate degree in EE or Physics

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,300.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
