We are seeking a Conducting Officer for Risk at Director level to join our Risk and Compliance team in the Luxembourg Management Company. 

The Conducting Officer is the nominated responsible person for Risk Management, with responsibility to the Board and the CSSF. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring  second line of defence Risk Management and Compliance frameworks remain appropriate to meet the needs of the CSSF, and relevant regulations of the Irish and Luxembourg fund ranges, managed by the Management Company (ManCo) / Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM). Working with the BNY Group global risk and compliance teams, the candidate will lead the second line risk management and compliance teams to develop a robust risk and compliance culture within the Luxembourg ManCo. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous enhancement of the risk management and compliance frameworks, including policy, procedures for UCITS and Alternative Investment strategies.
  • Establish and oversee a consistent risk management approach across the business; collaborating with investment, operations, compliance, and governance teams to effectively implement and monitor procedures.
  • Managing the ManCo’s Lux based compliance team and providing additional oversight of the identification of regulatory and compliance risks and ensuring the compliance framework continues to meet CSSF and industry best practice. Conducting Officer for Compliance will have a functional reporting line into this role. 
  • Engaging with BNY Group risk and compliance teams to ensure ICT and Operational Risk activities remain in compliance with CSSF expectations and industry best practice.
  • Oversee and implement regulatory change related to risk management and industry best practice; ensure timely alignment with CSSF and relevant Luxembourg & Irish regulations and circulars.
  • Oversee the risk monitoring framework, including monitoring of fund risk profiles ; and robust risk identification to ensure fund compliance and adherence to investment limits and applicable regulations.
  • Reporting of frequent and ad‑hoc risk reports to senior management, the Board, and the CSSF/regulator and ensuring material risks are escalated promptly.
  • To review and challenge the first line delegation oversight frameworks to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations. 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience as a CSSF-approved Conducting Officer for an AIFM/ManCo for Risk and/or Compliance
  • 10 years of risk management and compliance experience across relevant fund types: • UCITS • Alternative Investments and demonstrable regulatory knowledge of CSSF requirements. 
  • Experience of people management and leadership responsibilities  
  • Profound knowledge of Luxembourg legal and regulatory requirements relating to risk management, fund administration, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
  • Additional experience in Corporate Management, Fund Administration, or similar is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated professional integrity, self-motivation, accountability, and strong analytical, influencing, and communication skills.
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Law, Economics, or a related field.

Core competencies:

  • Regulatory fluency (CSSF guidance and rules, UCITS/AIFMD frameworks) and practical implementation skills.
  • Risk methodology expertise (market, credit, liquidity, operational, valuation, model risk).
  • Strong governance orientation with Board-level communication capability.
  • Strong analytical skills, including data-driven reporting, KPI design, and risk analytics proficiency.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management at a senior level
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

  • Functional reporting into BNY 2nd line Risk and Compliance
