The Senior Manager, Value & Access Pipeline is accountable for shaping and executing the Italian affiliate’s early value and access strategy for the products under its responsibility from time to time, ensuring that clinical development choices and evidence-generation plans anticipate and satisfy future Health Technology Assessment (HTA), pricing and reimbursement requirements in Italy. For its products of reference, the role provides strategic input to clinical research and cross-functional teams on endpoints, comparators, biomarkers, unmet medical need and outcomes that are likely to be pivotal for local payer value demonstration. The position also leads local disease-area readiness for emerging therapeutic areas by building robust insight on epidemiology, patient pathways, current standards of care, unmet needs, and access barriers, and translating these insights into affiliate launch readiness actions.

Early Value & Access Strategy & Clinical Development Support Early strategic support to clinical development to ensure that trial design, endpoints, comparators, and evidence generation are relevant for HTA and reimbursement in Italy.

Emerging Therapeutic Area Intelligence & Affiliate Readiness Development of deep knowledge of emerging therapeutic areas and preparation of the Italian affiliate in terms of value story, access risks, data needs, and internal capabilities.

Cross-Functional Alignment (Local–EU–Global) & Governance Coordination and alignment across local, European, and global levels on value and access activities, ensuring strategic consistency, governance, and representation of the Italian perspective.

External Stakeholder Engagement & Insight Generation Structured and compliant engagement with external stakeholders (HTA bodies, payers, clinicians, KOLs, pharmacists, academia) to gather insights on evidence expectations, access barriers, and implementation.

Evidence Planning (HEOR/RWE), Value Tools & Payer Value Story Contribution to integrated evidence planning (HEOR/RWE), development of economic models, and value tools supporting pricing and reimbursement decisions.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification (preferred), such as a PhD, MSc in Health Economics/HTA, MBA, or specialized training in outcomes research or evidence generation.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Market Access / Value & Access and Pricing & Reimbursement within the pharmaceutical environment, including exposure to pipeline assets (pre-launch).
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proven track record of cross-functional leadership in a matrix organization, with effective collaboration with EU and Global teams.
  • Experience engaging, either directly or through compliant insight generation, with external stakeholders (payers, HTA experts, clinicians, patient groups) and translating insights into strategic recommendations.
