Job Description

Position Summary:

This position is part of the label development team whose responsibility is to support the label design and revision for new and existing products. The performance emphasis is to be a creative developer, planner, and coordinator of multiple project tasks, achieving high quality & timely completion.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Receive artwork change request assignments and ensure redline accuracy and proper documentation provided to support change.

  • Perform functions and responsibilities within EDMS and project management tool.

  • Coordinate and support Project Team required label designs and updates.

  • Coordinate and support Artwork Change Request (ACR) review process and label verification processes.

  • Coordinate with manufacturing sites and print suppliers on label printing and/or proof approval processes.

  • Artwork, Instructions For Use (IFU), and Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) design based on established division style guidelines.

  • Label design, utilizing various labeling software platforms, including complex database connections.

  • Proper barcode design based on corporate standards and industry regulations, utilizing various labeling software platforms.

  • Follow and implement a detailed operating procedure within the boundary of an established style guide.

  • Maintain “master branding” and apply it when necessary..

  • Meet all deadlines set forth by the Department manager.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science with emphasis on graphic design
  • Experience in a documentation related position, preferably in an FDA and/or other similarly regulated environment
  • Working knowledge of graphic design and print production, with a general understanding of computer networks and file mapping
  • An advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In Design, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills required in the areas of verbal and written communications, customer focus, self-motivation, professionalism, and team building
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks with competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Label creation software such as Easy Label, Bartender or an equivalent variable print label software.

  • Working knowledge on use of thermal transfer printers and their capabilities, including LVS

  • Understanding of the print process including color space, traps, registration, bleeds, CMYK and RGB color modes, complex 3-D dies, specialty inks (Pantone color system) and substrates.

  • An understanding and the ability to implement Creative Cloud Libraries, Character and Paragraph styles and an above average knowledge of Adobe shortcuts and key commands.

  • Illustration and photography

  • An understanding of GTIN barcodes, QR Codes, Data Matrix and HIBC Barcodes a plus..

  • Working knowledge of document comparison software

  • Knowledge of EDMS
