Job Summary:

As the Construction Operations Manager, you will provide subject matter expertise for the execution and development of projects within the Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) GBU. You will report to the M&T Manager of Construction to support proposals, pre-construction readiness, staffing, project execution, and GBU strategic initiatives. This role requires collaboration across functions and leadership in implementing advanced construction strategies, technologies, and safety programs.#LI-MJ1 

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide consultation to GBU and Bechtel leadership on construction execution strategies and unique assignments.
• Lead or participate in pre-construction activities, such as organizing site logistics, setting up temporary facilities, reviewing constructability, staffing, modular or offsite manufacturing (OSM), and contracting methods.
• Pilot digital tools (4D/5D planning, workfront analytics) and new construction technologies for high-change environments.
• Provide input to Corporate Construction Workface Effectiveness Team on technical training programs for Construction personnel.
• Collaborate with other functions, disciplines and GBUs
• Lead or participate in GBU Strategic Initiatives
• Conduct reviews of GBU processes, procedures, and instructions.  
• Screen resumes, interview candidates, and recommend staffing for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Research new concepts, products, and technologies for project planning and execution and conduct or lead special studies on economic feasibility 
• Lead and execute structured review processes—including Readiness Reviews, KASE, and Project Performance Reviews to ensure project alignment, risk mitigation, and readiness for safe, on-time, and on-budget delivery

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or relevant technical discipline; 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in semiconductor, EV battery, or data centers preferred
• Hands-on implementation of AWP and OSM strategies; experience with project setup, system turnover, and completion preferred
• Proficiency with digital execution tools, 4D/5D planning, and analytics preferred

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Multi-discipline background across field engineering and supervision (CSA, piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation)
• Strong commitment to Bechtel core processes and zero-accident safety culture.
• Proven leadership in large-scale EPC projects, managing staff, maintaining good client relationships and developing talent.
• Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
