The Level 3 Computing Support Specialist plays a critical role in the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of advanced computing systems. This position is responsible for installing new hardware and software, resolving complex technical issues across servers, networks, storage, and operating systems, and supporting virtualization and cloud-native infrastructure. The specialist also contributes to new product introduction (NPI), delivers training to field teams, and authors technical documentation for field procedures. The role requires strong technical acumen, proactive problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

System Installation: Install and configure servers, storage devices, networking equipment, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).

Complex Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve advanced issues related to hardware, software, networks, storage, and operating systems, including virtualization platforms (VMware, HyperV, Proxmox, etc.).

Virtualization & Cloud-Native Infrastructure: Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization environments and cloud-native stacks (Kubernetes, Grafana, Kibana, Docker).

New Product Introduction (NPI): Evaluate and learn new technologies, providing feedback and support for product rollouts.

Training & Knowledge Transfer: Develop and deliver technical training sessions for field teams to ensure effective support and operations.

Procedure Documentation: Write and update comprehensive field procedures covering preventive maintenance, field replacement units, troubleshooting guides, roll-in processes and more.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support of Computing solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Expertise in server, storage, and networking technologies. – Required. Proficiency with Windows servers and Linux servers, operating systems in an enterprise environment.

Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, HyperV, Proxmox). – Preferred to have (proficiency in 1 out of 3) •

Knowledge of cloud-native infrastructure tools (Kubernetes, Grafana, Kibana, Docker).

  • Knowledge in scripting languages like PowerShell, python, bash etc. – Good to have.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation.

Experience in delivering technical training or presentations.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, VMware Certified Professional, RHCSA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

Minimum 7 years in computing support role, preferably in the semiconductor domain.

Experience of directly supporting enterprise-level customers.

Proven track record in system installation and troubleshooting across diverse computing large-scale systems.

Experience with NPI and field procedure development.

Background in supporting enterprise-scale virtualization and cloud-native technologies.

Exposure to training field teams and authoring technical guides.

Willingness to work off hours and weekends.

Willingness to travel up to 40%.

Excellent English – verbal and written. Work Environment and Reporting The Level 3 Computing Support Specialist operates within a collaborative multi-level support teams and multi-disciplinary functions.

The role may require occasional travel to field locations for installations, training, or troubleshooting. The position emphasizes teamwork, continuous learning, and proactive support in a dynamic environment
