As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials, you’ll dive deep into ground-breaking technologies—like machine learning and AI—to craft novel software solutions that solve our customers’ high-value problems. Our Software Engineers are responsible for designing, prototyping, developing, and debugging software solutions for semiconductor equipment components and devices to ensure quality and functionality. You'll develop software documentation and test procedures, troubleshoot software problems, and communicate with internal customers to understand project requirements. As part of our team, you'll contribute your expertise in intricate systems, deciphering code, and anticipating software behaviors to ensure Applied remains the leader in the semiconductor and display sectors.

Your Opportunity
We are looking for a Computing Full Stack Engineer with strong computing system skills in Linux environments and a solid understanding of infrastructure fabric. This role focuses on building automation, performance optimization, and integration solutions using scripting and configuration management tools. The ideal candidate will bridge development and infrastructure knowledge to deliver robust infra as code, solutions.
Roles and Responsibility
- Design and develop automation scripts to config and deploy Linux platforms, storage,network, FW, Hypervisor and virtualization, containers and K8s platforms.
- Performance optimization for compute workloads.
- Design and develop automation scripts and tools using Ansible,python,Bash.
Mandatory skills & knowledge:
- Linux:
Package management, Systemd services, User/permission management, NFS shares Management
- Hypervisor:
Configuring VM Networks, Configuring Resource Provisioning,
- Storage:
SAN/NAS (iSCSI, NFS), Distributed Storage, Configuring RAID or Similar.
- Network:
VLANs, Trunking, or link aggregation, Wireshark troubleshot.
- FW:
Configured rules, Worked with appliance-based.
- Containers:
Docker/Podman, Deployed containerized applications in production
- Kubernetes:
Self-managed or managed, Written and applied Kubernetes manifests, Deployments, Services, Config Maps
Good to have Skills:
- Ansible, Bash or Python scripting.
- Exposure to CI/CD concepts (awareness only).
Qualifications & Years of Work Experience -
- BE/B Tech/M Tech or relevant qualifications
- Total 6-12 years of relevant work experience
