SAP Developer (Process Automation)

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end automation solutions and AI-driven processes using BTP and other AI/Intelligent Automation Tools. This role will focus on leveraging SAP BTP services, including SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (RPA), SAP AI Core, and SAP AI Foundation, and where necessary leverage external tools to help to streamline and optimize business operations. The Developer will collaborate with multi-functional teams to automate complex workflows, integrate machine learning models, and create intelligent systems that drive innovation and efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement automation and AI-driven solutions using SAP BTP, including SAP Intelligent RPA, SAP AI Core, and AI Foundation, and not limited to SAP ecosystem to streamline business processes and drive efficiency, ensuring scalability, flexibility, and adherence to best practices for SAP BTP-based solutions.

• Collaborate with BTP lead, business collaborators and product teams to define automation and AI requirements, ensuring solutions meet compliance and business standards.

• Lead the integration of automation workflows and AI models with existing SAP and non-SAP systems, ensuring flawless process continuity.

• Develop and maintain key user documentation, including solution architecture, test scripts, and process flows, ensuring audit readiness and clarity.

• Implement, test, and optimize process automation solutions, continuously supervising performance and adjusting improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with SAP BTP standard processes.

• Stay up to date with SAP BTP process automation capabilities and AI advancements, proactively adopting new tools and strategies to enhance automation across the organization.

• Stay up to date with latest innovation in hard-working automation and AI and conduct POC’s to prove feasibility and fit for use to augment SAP BTP capabilities.

• Familiarity with data analytics and scientific computing platforms such as Databricks, Dash, Plotly, Spotfire and related programming languages like SQL, python.

Functional Skills:

• Good experience with SAP BTP, including at least 2 years of hands-on development in automation (SAP RPA) and AI-based solutions (SAP AI Core/AI Foundation).

• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and deploying SAP automation bots, AI models, and integrating them into business processes.

• Solid understanding of SAP Cloud Application Programming (CAP) Model and its role in building scalable automation and AI solutions on SAP BTP.

• One year experience using AI, ML and API solutions (e.g. BTP SI, Mule Soft)

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

• Knowledgeable about Gen AI technologies such as Chat

GPT or Microsoft Copilot:

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for software delivery and project management.

• Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., Tensor Flow, Py Torch, Scikit-learn)

• Experience in building various machine learning models

• Some experience in automation software platforms (e.g., Ui Path, Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, etc.) is preferred

• Experience with AWS Services like EC2, S3, Redshift/Spectrum, Glue, Athena, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway is a plus

• Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, SAP Cloud Application Lifecycle Management (CALM), and other process automation frameworks.

• Knowledge of regulatory and industry compliance standards for automation and AI solutions.

Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or required for the role):

• SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP (preferred)

• SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Certification (preferred)

• Any AWS Developer certification (preferred)

• Any Python and ML certification (preferred)

• Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 1 to 3 years of IT or related field experience OR

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 3 to 5 years of IT or related field experience OR

• Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 7 to 9 years of IT or related field experience
