ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

In this vital role, you will be responsible for leading, architecting, designing, and implementing SAP S/4HANA solutions with a focus on end-to-end Record to Report (RTR) processes and capabilities. As a Specialist SAP Architect within our global Digital, Technology, and Innovation (DTI) team, this role will help guide the transition from our worldwide ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise, along with the successful migration of the other RTR integrated systems. This position requires deep expertise in SAP S/4 HANA Record to Report with a good understanding of cross functional integration with SAP other modules. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and configure the SAP S/4 HANA core to meet business requirements and implement critical Accounting capabilities.

  • Ensures solutions developed are aligned to enterprise architecture standards, guidelines and principles by leverage common technology platforms and services.

  • Ensures seamless integration between SAP Advanced Intercompany (AIC) and other SAP modules (FI, MM, OTC, PP, TM, ATTP, GTS, EAS, Vistex and EWM) as well as third-party systems.

  • Participate in ERP implementation projects as part of the physical financial product team, including blueprinting, gap analysis, testing, go-live, and post-production support. Provide mentoring to team members.

  • Creation and maintenance of critical documentation such as technical assessments, configuration specs, functional designs, test cases, and user manuals. Ensures compliance with pharmaceutical industry standards and regulations.

  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver and sustain Amgen's S/4HANA ecosystem utilizing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Develop innovative solutions that drive speed to value via AI/ML and leading practices.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into design options that are cost effective, efficient, re-usable that align with defined architectural principles and standards.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • Doctorate degree OR

  • Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 4 to 6 years of SAP implementation experience in SAP S/4 SD OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 6 to 8 years of SAP implementation experience in SAP S/4 SD OR

  • Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 10 to 12 years of IT or years of SAP implementation experience in SAP S/4 SD

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience in configuring and integrating all aspects of SAP S/4 Finance solution for global deployments; focus on SAP Finance (General Ledger accounting, SD & MM Account Determination, Indirect Tax, Intercompany & Intracompany) and Controlling modules (Product Costing, Cost Object Controlling, Material Ledger, Actual Costing, Transfer Pricing, Valuation Approach).

  • Understand manufacturing processes with Inventory & Cost Accounting and intercompany transfer pricing. Experience with S/4HANA Advance intercompany STO and Sales process.

  • Demonstrated understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); ability to clearly communicate key accounting concepts.

  • Collaborate with integrated agile product teams to ensure seamless integration between SAP Finance and other SAP modules (e.g. SD, MM, PP, Tax) and external systems. Perform mentoring to team members.

  • Ability to design and implement solutions based on business requirements, including debugging and root cause analysis.

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Proficiency in S/4 General Ledger, Blackline, Financial Reporting Tools, Fiori Apps.

  • Good understanding of Cross functional interdependencies, S/4 Physical & Financial flow and S/4 Advance Intercompany.

  • Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

  • Knowledge in Master Data Governance tool (MDG).

​Professional Certifications:

  • SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP S/4 Hana Financial Accounting OR Management Accounting OR both.

  • Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
