Salesforce Developer

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Our Global Commercial & Operations DTI team, based at the Amgen Capability Center Portugal (Lisbon), supports regional and global digital initiatives that enable key business capabilities and value streams.
Within ELMAC PSP (Patient Support Program), we operate in an agile DevOps model under the SAFe framework, delivering high-value features while ensuring platform stability and continuous improvement.
As a Salesforce Developer, you will design and implement scalable Salesforce solutions aligned with business needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into robust technical designs and ensure optimal platform performance.
In addition to solution delivery, you will be accountable for Platform Operations activities, including support ticket management aligned with SLAs, ensuring reliability, performance, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and implement customized Salesforce solutions, including customization, configuration, and integration with third-party applications.

Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements and understand business processes, translating them into technical designs.

Develop and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other Salesforce technologies.

Perform Salesforce administrative tasks, including user management, security settings, and data migrations.
-
Leverage Salesforce APIs and integration tools to integrate Salesforce with external systems and applications.
-
Extend and optimize data models, ensuring data integrity and quality within Salesforce.

Create and maintain documentation related to Salesforce development and configurations.
-
Stay updated with the latest Salesforce releases and best practices, making recommendations on how to incorporate new features and functionality into existing applications.

Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers in the team.
Platform Operations & Support Responsibilities:

Act as a primary point of contact for Platform Operations activities within the PSP environment.
-
Monitor, triage, and resolve Support Tickets in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA), ensuring timely and effective issue resolution.

Prioritize incidents, service requests, and defects based on business impact and urgency.
-
Perform root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Business, QA, Architecture, and Infrastructure) to ensure end-to-end resolution of platform-related issues.

Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes, including ticket management workflows, monitoring, and documentation.

Support release validation, production deployments, and post-release monitoring activities as part of the DevOps operating model.

Maintain clear and transparent communication with stakeholders regarding ticket status, risks, and resolution timelines.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Technical Skills:

Proven experience in customizing and configuring Salesforce, including but not limited to custom objects, workflows, process builder, Lightning components, and Apex triggers.

Apex and Visualforce: Proficiency in developing custom Apex classes, triggers, and Visualforce pages to address specific business needs and enhance user experience.

Lightning Experience: In-depth understanding of the Lightning framework, including building Lightning components and utilizing Lightning App Builder to create intuitive interfaces.

Integration Skills: Ability to integrate Salesforce with external systems using APIs, REST, SOAP, or other integration methods.

Data Management: Strong data management skills, including data modelling, data quality assessment, data migration, and data cleansing.
Problem-Solving:

A knack for analyzing complex issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions to enhance system functionality and performance.

Process Automation: Proficiency in designing and implementing process automation using tools such as Process Builder, Flow, and Workflow Rules.
Required qualifications, skills & abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field

At minimum 4-5 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer, working with Salesforce Sales, Service, Health or Marketing Cloud
-
Strong proficiency in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL
-
Experience with Salesforce configuration and customization, including workflows, validation rules, and process automation using declarative tools.

In-depth knowledge of Salesforce data management, data modelling, and integration technologies (REST, SOAP, etc.)
-
Familiarity with App Exchange and managed packages for extending Salesforce functionality.
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex business requirements to provide innovative solutions.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Developer (Platform Developer I or II) or Administrator are highly desirable.
