This is a specialized engineering position responsible for Product Engineering program technical planning for next-generation AMD microprocessors. This individual serves as a critical technical point of contact to the business, design, platform validation and product engineering teams. THE PERSON:
You will provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers and influence others as a subject matter expert. A successful candidate is one who can drive technical decisions independently, has accountability for accuracy, reliability and completeness of assignment results critical to the project’s success. This role allows the opportunity to influence technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The position focuses on the device analysis of advanced microprocessors and graphics processors based on advanced FINFET, Gate all around technologies.
- Perform comprehensive failure analysis including transistor nano-probing, electrical characterization using AFM, Electron Microscopy and Material Analysis.
- Develop advanced FA techniques to tackle latest FINFET & GAA technology products.
- Explore use of Machine learning / AI for Device Analysis applications.
- Work in deep collaboration with world-wide Design, Product, Reliability, Customer and Foundry Engineering teams to resolve complex new product bring-up, yield and reliability issues.
- Work closely with Scientific Instruments manufacturers, Universities and Research Institutes to develop new and innovative failure analysis tools and techniques.
- To provide inputs on technical roadmap to tackle advancing process technology nodes.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant experience in fabless semiconductor companies and/or wafer fabrication environments strongly preferred.
- Solid fundamental understanding of semiconductor device physics.
- Strong background in semiconductor wafer processing and materials characterization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to perform FA tools troubleshooting and work effectively with equipment vendors to resolve tool and process issues.
- Proven capability to collaborate across cross‑functional and globally distributed teams.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- B.Eng, M.Eng, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Materials Engineering, or related disciplines.
