Jobs
The Amazon Aviation Security (Av Sec) team is seeking an enthusiastic Av Sec Manager to provide leadership, and oversight for Amazon Air’s (AIR) cargo transportation business. The Av Sec Manager will be responsible for defining and driving new initiatives for the transportation supply chain involving Amazon owned and third-party (3P) delivery methods. This includes independently determining risk-based security standards, exercising discretion in interpreting and applying DGCA and BCAS regulations, and making decisions regarding compliance approaches and standardized processes. The Av Sec Manager serves as the interface between ATS Air and Av Sec leadership, and will be responsible for exercising independent judgment in identifying, reporting, and leading the correction of non-compliances and deficiencies. The successful candidate will serve as a point of contact for regulatory engagement, lead the correction of non-compliance with established security policies and procedures, and develop and improve processes to ensure operational integrity, owning goals and performance targets for their respective region.
The Av Sec Manager supports the AIR operation program as the subject matter expert on interpreting, implementing, and validating security requirements, to ensure 3P vendors and assets (people, property, and data) are secure and the organization is prepared to properly respond to various security related incidents. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement, utilize their security expertise and management strength to challenge conventional wisdom, think strategically, and communicate effectively.
Key job responsibilities
Join Amazon's Aviation Security team as a Risk Manager III and play a pivotal role in safeguarding Amazon Air's dynamic expansion across India. This is your opportunity to architect aviation security risk management programs from inception in one of the world's e-commerce landscapes.
Our Aviation Security team stands at the intersection of regulatory excellence and operational security, anchored by four foundational pillars: Security Management Systems, Programs and Quality Assurance, Security Operations, and Credentialing. We champion a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks that could impact our people, assets, brand reputation, and regulatory standing. Through continuous innovation and refinement of world-class aviation security procedures, we embed Security Management Systems (SeMS) principles into Amazon's operational DNA—creating a risk-intelligent framework that makes security everyone's responsibility.
This role offers extraordinary career-defining opportunities. You'll architect aviation security programs that directly enable Amazon Air's India expansion while collaborating with global aviation security leadership and regulatory authorities including BCAS and DGCA. Gain invaluable exposure to international aviation security frameworks spanning IATA, ICAO, and TSA standards across multiple jurisdictions. Work within Amazon's innovation-driven culture where risk assessment methodologies meet customer obsession. Your security risk assessments won't just protect critical infrastructure—they'll unlock operational expansion, making you a strategic enabler of Amazon Air's growth story in India.
A day in the life
As an onsite role, your day begins with timely office arrival and analyzing Aviation Security Control Center (ASCC) intelligence to assess threats affecting Amazon Air operations. Morning meetings with third-party air carrier security teams review compliance status and charter requests from the ACAR team. You'll prepare documentation for bi-monthly meetings and business reviews. Afternoons focus on strategic documentation, updating Security Management System dashboards, preparing weekly status reports, documenting security incident lessons learned, and revising Standard Operating Procedures. You'll coordinate regulatory audits for third-party carriers while collaborating with global Aviation Security teams across time zones, partnering with Amazon Air Operations, ACAR, and Ship With Amazon teams to ensure seamless security integration and safe air cargo operations.
