Senior Product Manager - Technical, Amazon Tablet/eReader

We are hiring a Senior Technical Product Manager to create personalized experiences on the device that delight customers using a combination of advanced machine learning models and an intuitive user interface. The products you build will be high-impact and high visibility; helping tablet customers discover new content and get the most out of their devices.

- Innovate to deliver solutions to improve the customer experience and generate business value.
- Deliver working backward documents to define new products, establish the business case, and align with stakeholders.
- Deliver business requirements to inform design and engineering to ship software products that address customers' needs.
- Own team level and influence organization level prioritization and trade-offs.
- Think big to generate new product ideas.
A day in the life
You will work closely with software engineers, designers, scientists, go-to-market teams, and executives to bring the future of the tablet UI to customers. This role will focus not only on what customers see on their device, but how they interact with their tablet, the technical architecture that enables the features, and the business value the experience delivers. A successful candidate will be analytical, empathetic, and adept at solving complex problems with simple products customers love.
About the team
The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle, Fire TV, and Echo. Our tablets are among the most popular consumer electronics devices on the market, with easy access to millions of apps, games, movies, books, and more. It is just Day 1 for Amazon devices and we are looking for proven, customer-centric product leaders to help continue to innovate and grow our device business.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience managing technical products or online services
- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
