IMDb is the world's most popular and trusted source for movie, TV, and celebrity content. As part of Amazon, we operate at global scale while maintaining the agility and creative energy of a nimble team. IMDb Creative Studio is where innovation and storytelling meet — delivering award-winning advertising experiences for the world's top entertainment brands.
We're seeking a Senior Design Technologist who operates at the intersection of design craft and technical execution. This is not a pure engineering role — the ideal candidate thinks visually, builds fluently, and moves seamlessly between Figma and code. You'll lead the technical execution of complex advertising campaigns and define how AI tools and workflows integrate into our creative practice — accelerating execution, reducing rote work, and unlocking creative possibilities. You'll serve as a technical leader within a multidisciplinary team, shaping scalable systems, influencing senior stakeholders, and mentoring peers.
This is a senior individual contributor role requiring deep expertise in both front-end development and design sensibility. Experience in digital advertising, agency, or studio settings at scale is highly valued.
This role is onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
- Key job responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical execution of high-impact advertising campaigns across web, mobile, and app.
- Architect and build high-fidelity, responsive prototypes that reflect strong design sensibility as much as technical precision — setting the quality bar for the team.
- Translate design intent into pixel-perfect, production-ready experiences — maintaining visual fidelity from concept through delivery.
- Identify opportunities to productize recurring creative patterns, reducing build time and increasing consistency.
- Lead evaluation, integration, and operationalization of AI tools into the creative production workflow — from generative models to LLM-assisted development.
- Partner with design, strategy, and engineering teams to identify where AI can reduce manual effort and accelerate time-to-market.
- Drive technical scoping conversations with designers, campaign managers, and senior stakeholders.
- Mentor junior and mid-level Design Technologists, elevating the overall craft of the team.
A day in the life
As a Senior Design Technologist at IMDb Creative Studio, your days blend creative problem-solving with technical leadership. You might start the morning reviewing a new campaign brief with a designer, then spend the afternoon prototyping an interactive ad experience or evaluating a new AI tool for the team's workflow. You're equally comfortable opening Figma to review a layout as you are diving into a React component — and your colleagues on both the design and engineering sides see you as a peer. You'll regularly collaborate with account teams and senior stakeholders to scope complex builds, and you'll close the day mentoring a junior technologist through a tricky front-end challenge. No two days look the same — and that's exactly the point.
About the team
IMDb Creative Studio operates like a boutique agency within Amazon. We partner closely with entertainment clients and internal sales teams to deliver both custom campaigns and scalable ad products. We prioritize creativity, velocity, and precision — balancing rapid custom builds with thoughtful productization to maximize revenue and impact. We're actively integrating AI into our production practice — and we're looking for someone who can help lead that charge. We are a tight-knit, multidisciplinary group that values collaboration, autonomy, and craft.

- Knowledge of databases and AWS database services: ElasticSearch, Redshift, DynamoDB
