The future of shopping is agentic — AI systems that can discover, reason about, and act on product information on behalf of customers. Our catalog is at the center of this transformation, and we are looking for a visionary Principal Product Manager, Tech to lead the strategy for making the catalog the definitive source of product and brand knowledge that powers next-generation AI shopping experiences.
As the Principal Product Manager Tech – Catalog Strategy for AI Shopping Experiences, you will serve as the strategic bridge between the catalog team and the broader ecosystem of AI-powered shopping experiences. You will own the roadmap, experimentation strategy, and long-term vision for how catalog data — spanning product attributes, brand knowledge, usage-based knowledge, and marketplace-level context — enables intelligent, personalized, and trustworthy AI shopping experiences at scale.
You will establish clear frameworks for collaboration across teams, defining ownership boundaries, shared goals, and delivery mechanisms that enable seamless integration between catalog capabilities and AI-powered customer experiences.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact individual contributor role that requires a rare combination of deep catalog expertise, AI/ML product intuition, and executive-level influence. You will define how catalog metadata, data, and knowledge — at the item, product cohort, brand voice, company voice, usage, and marketplace level — fuels the ability of AI systems to deliver accurate, personalized, and trustworthy shopping experiences for hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.
- Key job responsibilities
- Define product strategy and roadmap for catalog capabilities that power AI shopping experiences across worldwide marketplaces
- Lead experimentation programs to measure and optimize the impact of catalog improvements on AI search quality and customer outcomes
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with AI, science, engineering, and retail teams to align on shared goals and delivery
- Establish frameworks and standards for catalog metadata that enables AI systems to deliver accurate, relevant, and trustworthy results
- Evangelize initiatives across the organization through leadership presentations, strategy documents, and cross-team forums
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience technical product management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
