The Quality Manager will lead a team of Quality Associates to ensure best-in-class food safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance across fruits, vegetables, and fresh produce categories. This role is responsible for setting quality strategy, driving operational excellence, and building robust supplier and internal quality systems that protect customer trust and product integrity at scale.

  • Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of Quality Associates, setting clear goals and driving performance against quality and food safety KPIs.
  • Own end-to-end food safety and quality compliance across fresh produce, ensuring adherence to HACCP, ISO 22000, and local regulations.
  • Oversee audits and inspections, including engagement with municipality and regulatory bodies, and ensure timely closure of non-conformities.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for customer complaints and quality issues.
  • Manage vendor quality performance through audits, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and improve quality execution across operations.
  • Use data and reporting to identify trends, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed on market dynamics and ensure products meet both regulatory and customer quality expectations.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of with Excel experience
  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
