Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers the physical engine at the heart of Amazon. AFT builds and operates software, hardware, and processes that run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many billions of units of inventory, employ tens of thousands of people, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised we would get it to them. Our Flow systems automate the flow and labor management decisions within the fulfillment facilities. From the moment inventory is scheduled to arrive into the fulfillment center it is processed and stowed to ensure its readiness to fulfill customer orders. Once the order is placed the inventory is picked and the customer shipment flows through various manual and robotic processes up until customer package leaves the fulfillment facility on its way to the customer. Our systems ensure fast and optimal flow within the building by putting just the right resources at the right locations while automatically surfacing and resolving any unforeseen risks to ensure Amazon Associate safety and experience and help Amazon to constantly keep its promise to the customers while optimizing and expanding its business operations.

We are looking for a talented SDE to build best-in-class user experiences for managing and communicating one of the most critical elements of fulfillment operations - staffing assignments. You will partner with product, research scientist, and your engineering team to build applications that delight customers and make a real-world impact.

As a member of this team, you will get the opportunity to work on highly visible, innovative projects that directly impact the customer experience. You will be involved in all the aspects of the software development cycle, including scoping, design, implementation, testing, and delivery of your product.

Outbound Flow
AFT’s Outbound Flow team pairs science with innovative technologies to optimize throughput within every Amazon fulfillment center. We deliver smiles for Amazon customers with safe, sustainable, cost-effective, on-time package deliveries.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Experience in an AWS environment, including VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, SQS, Cloud

Formation and Lambda:

• Experience designing rich user interfaces using modern web frameworks (such as React, Angular, and Vue)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
