In this role, you'll identify opportunities to improve customer experience by monitoring the latest advancements in AI technology and quickly implementing features to support them. You'll drive real-time technologies for reporting and analytics data through agentic applications, while contributing to our highly-visible Amazon Ads MCP server and API gateway initiatives.

- Lead the design and implementation of latest AI technologies that enhance the Amazon Ads platform, ensuring solutions balance speed of delivery with scalability for future growth.
- Drive cross-team collaborations to build consensus on new advertising features, working effectively with engineering counterparts to align on technical direction and implementation approaches.
- Monitor industry advancements in AI technology, proactively identify opportunities for implementation, and translate these insights into actionable product enhancements that improve customer experience.
- Own and enhance real-time technologies for reporting and analytics data through agentic applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security at scale.
- Provide technical leadership for the Amazon Ads MCP server and API gateway, making architectural decisions that optimize for simplicity, maintainability, and performance while mentoring other engineers on best practices.
A day in the life
Your day begins with a technical discussion with engineering teams to align on an upcoming AI feature for the ads platform. After reviewing code contributions from team members, you research the latest industry developments in machine learning applications for advertising. You spend time refining the architecture for a new API endpoint in the gateway, ensuring it meets performance requirements. Later, you collaborate with product managers to translate customer feedback into technical specifications and mentor junior engineers on optimizing data structures for real-time analytics processing.

The team builds and maintains the Amazon Ads MCP server as well as the API gateway - highly-visible initiatives with extensive opportunities for intelligent architecture and green-field development.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
