Amazon Studios is a premium audio-visual content development and production company. We are seeking a Principal Production Executive (Mumbai) to drive production strategy and execution for Hindi language Original series (scripted/unscripted) and Movies across India. This role requires deep production expertise, strategic budget management, strong industry relationships across Hindi markets, and the ability to influence production standards and practices across the organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Influence

  • Drives production strategy across high-complexity projects, influencing partner teams' and organizational goals

  • Shapes decision-making on territory expansion, production execution strategy, and resource allocation

  • Influences leadership, including Production Company Executives, Studio leadership, and creative partners

  • Defines and evolves production standards, policies, and best practices for the region

  • Financial Strategy & Oversight

  • Independently negotiates and approves budgets for high-complexity, high-value productions

  • Analyzes cost structures and identifies opportunities for efficiency and innovation

  • Drives financial strategy in partnership with Finance and Business Affairs teams

  • Manages complex payment structures, including multi-territory deals and above-the-line negotiations

  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Team Development

  • Partners with Creative, Legal, Business Affairs, and Operations teams to drive end-to-end production excellence

  • Mentors and develops Production Managers and Coordinators, raising the performance bar

  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with top-tier Producers, Executive Producers, and Line Producers

  • Represents Production in cross-functional forums and strategic planning sessions

  • Operational Excellence & Risk Management

  • Establishes production workflows and governance frameworks that scale across multiple concurrent projects

  • Identifies and mitigates production risks proactively, leveraging on-set presence and industry expertise

  • Ensures compliance with studio guidelines and local regulations

  • Drives continuous improvement in production processes and tools

A day in the life
A day in the life of a production executive would include a day at the office, often mixed with shoot visits and external partner meetings. All shows being handled by this person at various stages of development, prep, shoot and post will be keenly monitored- and all stakeholders across Content, Finance, Music, BA, Legal, VFX and Post will. be in constant communications.
Key meetings, follow ups, and manager updates are routine, and an overview of the slate at all times, expected.

About the team
The Production team comprises of experienced passionate peers who share a love for story telling. This teams knows the business, the costs associated with all stages of film making, and are a fantastic blend of corporate and on set knowledge.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience as a producer, production manager, line producer or in production risk management
  • 10+ years of producer, production manager or line producer experience
  • Experience influencing senior leaders/stakeholders
  • 5+ years as Line Producer/Executive Producer managing mid to high-budget productions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading large projects and facilitate group meetings
