DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer Service & Sales

Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly service.

Assist customers by providing product suggestions and filling special orders.

Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer concerns and escalate to the Store Director as needed.

Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store intercom, and direct customer interaction.
Operations & Product Preparation

Possess detailed knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Oversee and assist with department functions including preparation, brewing, and serving food items.

Implement proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.

Use and operate related equipment including kitchen utensils, conventional and microwave ovens, coffee grinders, coffee machines, espresso machines, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks.

Maintain hot and cold foods to company standards.

Brew coffee and tea to established quality requirements.

Operate electronic cash register to total customer bills, accept payment, and provide correct change.
Department Presentation & Cleanliness

Maintain case cleanliness, visual appeal, and proper product presentation.

Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of the Starbucks area, equipment, and surrounding workspaces.

Ensure safe work practices and compliance with sanitation standards.

Maintain proper temperatures during all phases of preparation, display, and storage.

Build, rotate, and remove outdated or spoiled product as needed.

Follow all opening and closing procedures for the department.
Leadership, Training & Scheduling

Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.

Train employees on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping requirements.

Identify and train high‑potential employees for advancement opportunities.

Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance.

Initiate personnel actions including interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures.
Inventory, Ordering & Documentation

Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain levels according to division directives.

Stock and rotate product, maintain and organize cooler space.

Prepare sales and inventory reports.

Participate in physical inventory conducted every 4 weeks.

Ensure proper code dating compliance for all department products.

Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.
Compliance, Standards & Procedures

Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.

Maintain and uphold department standards, including handling of quick‑sale items.

Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.

Follow company procedures to ensure profitability, accuracy, and operational consistency.
