Job Description:
Stress Engineer – Illescas Plant Engineering Team (PET)Location: Illescas, Spain
Division: Airbus Operations SL
Are you ready to see your calculations take flight?
Forget about just staring at a screen all day. At the Illescas Plant, we don't just design the future — we build it. As a Stress Engineer within the Plant Engineering Team (PET), you will be at the front line of aerospace manufacturing. You won't just be working on pixels; you’ll be working on the actual carbon fiber parts of the A350 and A320 that are being manufactured right next to your desk.
We are looking for motivated engineers—from talented graduates to experienced professionals—who thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
Your Mission:
Where Engineering Meets Reality:
In this role, you are a problem solver
. Your main goal is to provide high-level structural support to the production line:-Real-Time Solutions: Analyze and justify manufacturing deviations (concessions). When a part doesn't meet the nominal design, you decide if it’s safe to fly or how to fix it.
-
Innovative Repair Design: Create and validate "bonded and bolted" repair solutions. You’ll be the one defining the plies and the patches that save high-value components.
-
Shop Floor Collaboration: Work side-by-side with manufacturing engineers and shop-floor operators. You’ll go down to the line, touch the parts, and understand the manufacturing constraints firsthand.
-
Structural Integrity: Use your knowledge of Stress and Materials to ensure every part leaving Illescas meets the highest safety and airworthiness standards.
-
Continuous Improvement: Propose design or process changes to make manufacturing easier, faster, and cheaper without compromising safety.
Who You Are
-
Education: You hold a degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering (specializing in Structures).
-
Mindset: You are proactive and "hands-on." You enjoy the dynamic environment of a factory more than a quiet back-office.
-
Skills (Experienced): You have a background in Stress (Static, Fatigue, or Damage Tolerance)
-
Skills (Junior/No Experience): You have a solid theoretical foundation in Stress and a massive hunger to learn. We will train you to become a specialist in composite repairs.
-
Communication: You speak English and Spanish. You can explain a complex technical decision to a production manager or a design expert with clarity.
-
Resilience: You can handle the pressure of a production deadline and make safe, quick, and logical decisions.
