Job Description:
Head of Sales & Marketing (VP Level)
Location:
Brisbane, Australia
Airbus Australia Pacific (AAP)
Are you ready to lead the charge for one of the most iconic names in aerospace? Airbus Australia Pacific is seeking a visionary, high-impact leader to join our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) as the Head of Sales and Marketing.
Based in our Brisbane headquarters, this VP-level role reports directly to the Managing Director of AAP, with a functional line to the APAC Regional Head of Sales and Marketing. As the primary advocate for the "Voice of the Customer," you will be responsible for converting regional potential into sustainable revenue across Defence, Security, Civil, and Parapublic segments throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
The Mission
This isn't just about hitting targets; it’s about defining the Airbus legacy in the Pacific. You will lead both the "Front Office" (proactive sales and prospect engagement) and the "Back Office" (commercial operations, bids, and marketing strategy) to ensure we remain the partner of choice in the region.
Your Core Objectives:
-
Drive Growth: Achieve annual Order Intake and Revenue targets across Helicopters, Military Fixed Wing, and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
-
Market Expansion: Identify and penetrate new segments to diversify and strengthen our regional revenue base.
-
Strategic Branding: Develop the annual Marketing Roadmap and lead our presence at premier industry events, including Avalon and Rotortech.
-
Operational Excellence: Oversee complex tenders and maintain rigorous CRM accuracy, ensuring all activities align with global Airbus commercial policies.
-
Relationship Management: Build and sustain deep, high-level partnerships with government agencies, key accounts, and industrial stakeholders.
Who We Are Looking For
We need a leader who embodies the Airbus values—someone who is as adept at negotiating high-value purchase agreements as they are at coaching a high-performance, multi-disciplinary team.
Technical & Professional Expertise
-
10+ years of proven success in Sales, Business Development, and complex project management within the Aviation/Aerospace industry.
-
A track record of leading multinational or geographically dispersed teams to achieve ambitious strategic goals.
-
Deep expertise in helicopter market dynamics, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) technologies, and the regional regulatory landscape (CASA/CAA).
-
Superior negotiation skills with the ability to translate complex bid requirements into tangible business wins.
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or relevant Master’s degree is highly preferred.
Leadership Profile
-
A "Customer-First" mindset that balances short-term profitability with long-term brand loyalty.
-
Unwavering ethics and integrity, with a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and diverse work environment.
-
The executive presence to navigate complex internal and external interfaces with confidence and clarity.
