JOB DESCRIPTION:
The SENIOR MANAGER, RMA is responsible for functional management of the RMA team and thereby: Functional Management Responsibilities:
- Leads effort to recruit and hire RMAs within the Business Unit (BU) - Build a strong and cohesive RMA team and responsible for developing, evaluating and delivering core training for RMAs within BU to ensure that educational excellence is achieved
- Manages the performance and development of RMAs towards accountability, ownership and leadership using the means of objective setting, tracking and control of execution and providing resources in accordance with situational demands
- Accountable for the quality and consistency of scientific and medical knowledge of the RMAs within the BU - Leads strategy and development of processes and capabilities that optimize the delivery of scientific services to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Responsible for providing consistency within the BU as it pertains to compliance of the field-based medical/scientific function
- Provides coaching and feedback on job performance for RMAs within the BU - Drives talent acquisition and development plans, retention of talents and export/rotations across functions and locations if needed
- Sharing of any complaint/ADR/AE received to the PV team Cross-Functional Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the effective/optimal integration of the RMA Team with the MAT and Marketing team
- Prioritizes work and resources across the Marketing team (MKTG) and manages field-based project responsibilities as they pertain to the RMAs
- Leads strategy and development of processes and capabilities that optimize the delivery of services to internal and external customers
- Ensures compliance with local regulatory agency rules and Abbott SOPs
- Effectively partners with cross-functional team members
- Ensures internal stakeholders are knowledgeable of key opinion leader views and opinions as it pertains to Abbott’s products and relative disease states
- Responsible for identifying and resolving the therapeutic area operational needs/issues and processes of the RMAs and sharing best practices with the MA/MKTG - Proactively coordinates field need for medical/scientific knowledge required for management and support of company products and relative disease states (both in-line products and products in development) - Ensures appropriate RMA staffing to meet the needs of Medico-Marketing initiatives such as: Advisory Boards, Medical Booths, Educational Events etc.
- Works closely with the sales leadership to ensure optimal alignment of field resources in delivering therapeutic area goals and objectives in a compliant manner
- Ensures the development and execution of the Medico-Marketing strategies Additional Responsibilities:
- Attends appropriate scientific meetings to maintain his/her awareness of research activities within therapeutic area
- Presents monthly updates to applicable cross-functional partners and therapeutic business reviews at Medical Affairs Internal Management Team Meetings as requested
- In collaboration with RMAs establishes customer contact with opinion leaders related to key therapeutic area initiatives
- Leads working with cross-functional MA/MKTG members to develop effective brand-on-brand clinical strategies
