Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Main Circuit Designer to join our ABB Motion High Power team in Jüri.

In this role, you will focus on the design and development of main circuits and power electronics for frequency converters and drive systems. You will work on demanding product development projects using world-class technology together with experienced engineering teams in an international environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in power electronics main circuit design who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and contributing to innovative industrial products.

Work model: onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Designing and dimensioning main circuits and power electronics for frequency converters and drive systems.

  • Performing circuit simulations, defining verification tests, and analyzing test results.

  • Creating and maintaining technical design documentation throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Researching and evaluating new components, technologies, and circuit topologies.

  • Collaborating with suppliers, subcontractors, and cross-functional product development teams.

Qualifications for the role

  • You have strong hands-on experience in main circuit and power electronics design, especially within electrical drives or frequency converters.

  • You have 3+ years of experience in product development of power electronics systems.

  • You are confident using circuit simulation tools and engineering calculation methodologies.

  • You enjoy technical problem-solving and working on complex engineering challenges.

  • Degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • You communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken.

  • Experience with EMC, gate driver design, or industrial drive systems is considered an advantage.
