About the Role

  • This position reports to the GCC and Near East team lead and contributes to the Electrification/Distribution Solutions

  • Export Sales in Cairo, Egypt. The work model for this role is onsite.

  • You will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization for Medium voltage distribution solutions (Electrification

  • Distribution solutions within Export Markets covering Gulf & Near East Regions) during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.

Main stakeholders are Export Manager, Export Area Sales Manager, Suppliers, Engineering teams, Feeder factories, Project Management, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Screening and studying customer requirements including specifications, single line diagrams (SLDs), and bills of quantities (BOQs) to assess opportunity handling approach and determine optimal product/solution type
  • Preparing technical submittals including compliance statements, and datasheets and coordinating with engineering teams, suppliers, and feeder factories for necessary inputs
  • Calculating costs of offered solutions using ABB tools and supplier quotations, and discussing with engineering teams the applicability and cost of non-standard solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Generating technical and commercial offers with optimized product selection tailored to each export market to enhance competitiveness
  • Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market
  • Reviewing planned delivery for different components and developing preliminary delivery schedules at bidding stage, in addition to reviewing and commenting on VDRL/VDDL requirements
  • Communicating with suppliers for project-specific quotations
  • Supporting project-specific approvals by providing all necessary documentation, ensuring proper handover to execution teams through documentation and meetings summarizing key risks and project highlights

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 0-3 years of experience in sales support, bid and proposal, or design/engineering roles
  • Fluent spoken and written English & Arabic; French language is a plus
  • Understanding of electrical switchgear, transformers, power distribution systems, and ability to read technical specifications and single line diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously with efficient time management and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to optimize technical solutions and coordinate with cross-functional teams across different time zones
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn ABB costing tools and CRM systems
