This Position reports to:

  • India & Southeast Asia

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop an effective (business area/division/product group) sales strategy within the specified market scope (global/regional) and maintain it, to improve ABB’s market penetration and realize growth aspirations. Each day, you will define, plan, lead, and ensure the execution of sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets for products, systems, and/or services to ensure sustainable order growth, revenue, profitability, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the Sales organization (other sales managers and sales specialists within scope) to achieve the sales targets, through high performance.

This role is contributing to the machine automation within ABB's Automation division in Gujarat, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Spearhead the Automation and Motion Control business for ABB’s Automation division, focusing on solution selling and identifying key sectors such as Packaging, Printing, Plastics, Medical Assembly, and Pharma to expand market share.

  • Lead and coach a high-performing sales team to achieve budget targets while ensuring effective business planning, execution, and strong business hygiene.

  • Drive customer growth by strengthening relationships with key and global accounts, maximizing share of wallet from existing customers, and converting new customer opportunities.

  • Collaborate closely with channel management and internal teams to expand business through partners, while conducting competitor mapping and developing effective market strategies.

  • Monitor business performance through regular reviews, build and manage opportunity pipelines in CRM, negotiate key contracts, and proactively identify performance gaps while ensuring high customer satisfaction

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field); MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 12+Yrs experience in industrial automation, motion control, or related automation solutions.

  • Strong solution selling and business development experience in western region.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performance sales teams and deliver on revenue targets.

  • Experience working with key accounts and strategic customers.

  • Ability to analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and identify growth opportunities across sectors such as Packaging, Printing, Plastics, Pharma, or Medical Assembly.

  • Proficiency in CRM tools, sales pipeline management, and business forecasting.

  • Strong negotiation, customer relationship management, and stakeholder management skills.
