Position Overview
Reports to: Senior Business Controller
In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. You will act as a business partner to the relevant business manager/s. Lead local factory Controlling teams to optimize financial performance within ELDS NAM factories and US trading business.
Work Model: Hybrid (#Li-hybrid) in the Mebane or Cary, NC area with 30% estimated travel
Team Size: 5-6 fulltime direct reports
Role and Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Partner with business leaders to define strategy, translate it into actionable business plans, and evaluate financial implications through scenario modeling and forecasting
Performance Management & Decision Support
- Support effective business decisions by monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate various business alternatives and provide appropriate business solutions
- Monitor results, deliver insights to guide operational decisions
- Drive cost and productivity optimization
- Manage cash flow and working capital
Risk, Controls & Compliance Oversight
- Identify and mitigate financial/commercial risks
- Ensure strong internal controls
- Uphold corporate and regulatory compliance across reporting and audit activities
Stakeholder Communication & People Leadership
- Foster effective communication across global and regional finance teams
- Organize, develop, and lead a skilled team to support business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree / Professional Degree in finance (Masters/ MBA and professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA) also preferred)
- Minimum of 10+ years of controlling/finance experience working in multi-site environment, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated performance and results in the areas of business, finance, people development, operational/manufacturing controlling and accounting
- 5+ years supervising others in a controlling team
- Demonstrates knowledge and working experience of Microsoft Office software applications and SAP or any other ERP
- Demonstrated knowledge in understanding & interpreting complex manufacturing costing models, commercial Terms & Conditions, preparing Project Full cost model, Cashflow management, etc.
- Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Communicates complex financial topics effectively to senior management
- Efficiently manages multiple tasks with varying deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical equipment or industrial manufacturing
- Proven record of profitability turnaround and operational excellence
- Familiarity with ABB systems and processes
- International or multicultural work exposure
