Your role and responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget. Your focus will be on optimizing the manufacturing process through innovation in a cost-effective way.

This role is contributing to the Low & Medium Voltage Service Products in ELSE Division in Italy.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

• Defining and updating the production cycles, BOM and SOP based on the R&D technical documentation and following ABB Safety rules.

• Leading production during start-ups of new products by training indirect and direct staff.

• Supporting the production process and operators for technical problem and supporting the supply chain management to find new suppliers for new components/products.

• Performing Make or buy Cost Analysis on LV & MV Service Products.

• Ensuring optimal efficiency in production methods, equipment performance and materials/components.

• Identifying and implementing improvements to the manufacturing process in line with cost, safety and timing requirements.

• Investigating new methods, technologies and changes in equipment and process design to meet specifications.

• Defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources and personnel to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and a skilled, competent team.

• Consulting and working with production operators and supervisors to implement changes in the production department.

Qualifications for the role

• You enjoy working with LV & MV Products (both Circuit Breakers and Switchgears) and their production processes.

• Ability to demonstrate your experience in Operations organizations, working as Production Development Specialist will be a plus.

• Possess an enhanced knowledge of of SAP (PP,MM ), Microsoft Office and Excel (pivot, macro). Good knowledge of production safety rules.

• You are passionate about a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills. Strong leadership and ownership.

• Degree in Management Engineering (or Mechanical/Electrical).

• You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
