We are looking for people who are passionate about technology, solution‑oriented, and eager to tackle the technical challenges of our customers. We are therefore seeking an Automation Engineer to join our team at ABB. Together with project managers and fellow engineering colleagues, you will work on process automation projects for our customers in the Swedish market, primarily within the pharmaceutical sector.

These projects involve a high level of technical complexity and utilize ABB’s market‑leading DCS platform, System 800xA, to control processes through customized solutions. We apply concepts based on the system’s batch functionality to ensure proper process control, combining theory with hands‑on practice from the design phase all the way to commissioning.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in delivery projects as part of the project team and be involved in all project phases, from sales support to commissioning.

• Your tasks will include developing functional specifications, system configuration, system integration, programming, and verification/validation through testing at customer sites within the Life Science sector (pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food processing).

• Ensure that technical solutions are developed in accordance with specifications, standards, and safety requirements, with the appropriate quality and within the agreed schedule.

• Work closely with engineers and project managers, or operate independently on smaller projects, including participation in project and technical meetings with customers.

Who We Are Looking For

• Candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Several years of experience in process automation and/or in the pharmaceutical, food, or process industry is an advantage.

• Programming skills and a strong interest in automation and industrial process control.

• Experience with batch processes on DCS platforms is an advantage.

• A curious, goal‑oriented, and communicative personality with a customer‑focused mindset and strong relationship‑building skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• English proficiency at B2 level (spoken and written).

• A valid category B driving licence.
