The Distributor Representative acts as a strategic link between ABB and its distributor partners. This key role ensures the promotion of ABB products, provides technical support to distributors, trains sales teams, and coordinates field marketing initiatives. The position holder works closely with internal teams (sales, marketing, customer service, product management) to maximize the visibility and sales of ABB products within the distribution network.

Reports to: District Sales Manager – Province of Quebec

Work model: Hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop relationships with distributors through regular visits, field presence, and participation in events (BBQs, social activities, etc.)
  • Participate in setting up promotions with distributors by selecting products and negotiating promotional pricing
  • Ensure ABB brand visibility at distributor locations, including signage, promotional materials, and proper execution practices
  • Train and support distributors and new ABB employees through "Lunch & Learn" sessions, platform training (TNB.ca, Empower, TNB au courant), and technical assistance
  • Create and maintain documentation (procedures, guides, user access) to optimize the use of ABB tools by distributor sales teams
  • Manage product launches: presentations to distributors, catalog number coordination, sending DPD files, and supporting purchasing teams
  • Plan and execute ABB promotions, including communication, promotional tours, follow-up with marketing, and participation in post-promotion analysis
  • Ensure interdepartmental coordination and administration, including literature management, updating distribution lists, and communicating essential data (DPD, pricing, MOQ)

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train and present to groups
  • Knowledge of electrical products and the distribution industry
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Autonomy and ability to work on the road
  • Team spirit and interdepartmental collaboration
  • Customer orientation and strong customer service mindset
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written. French is required. English is also necessary for regular communication with customers outside Quebec
