This Position reports to: Service Manager
As a Field Service Engineer at ABB, you are the face of our technology with the customer. You keep installations reliable, prevent downtime and solve malfunctions as soon as they occur. With your technical knowledge and sharp insight, you ensure that processes run smoothly - in factories, on ships, data centers and much more. Working as Field Service Engineer at ABB
Your technical knowledge and analytical skills are the basis with which we help our customers at ABB. We ensure that their installations remain reliable, efficient and safe. As a Field Service Engineer, you add value to our products and services with your insight and craftsmanship; from preventive maintenance to solving complex malfunctions. Whether you work on automation systems, low and/or medium voltage installations, UPS systems, frequency regulators, motors and generators or maritime installations - your work makes a real difference.
You come into contact with diverse sectors: from the maritime world and offshore platforms to industry, energy supply and data centers. At ABB you have the space to do what you're good at and to develop further. Choose a role in which you travel extensively and support international projects, or stay closer to home in a regional service role. The choice is yours.
This vacancy is part of a broader recruitment campaign for our service functions. We currently have multiple open vacancies within our service organization. By responding, you come directly into consideration for current and future opportunities within ABB.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ABB systems and installations
- Locate and repair malfunctions, both independently and as part of a team
- Install, test and commission new systems or upgrades
- Advise customers on optimal operation, efficiency and safety
- Report on work performed and identify improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues from different disciplines within ABB
Your Qualifications
- MBO or HBO education in electrical engineering, mechatronics or comparable field
- Experience as a service engineer, technician or mechanic is a plus
- Affinity with electrical installations, drive technology or automation
- Customer-oriented, independent and solution-focused approach
- Willingness to travel (regional or international)
- Good command of Dutch and English
