About the Role
Reports to: Sales Support Manager
Location: Friedberg (Hessen)
Work Model: Onsite / Remote / Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area. Main stakeholders are customers, partners, and internal business units.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to strengthen ABB's position in the automotive industry by managing and developing long-term relationships with key customers. You will support the Sales Manager in implementing the overall sales strategy, ensure customer satisfaction, and contribute to growth in our Business Area Robotics & Discrete Automation. Each day, you will identify opportunities within existing accounts, drive customer-focused initiatives, and coordinate closely with internal teams to deliver solutions that create value.
Key Responsibilities
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Managing the sales process including opportunity generation, offer preparation and commercial negotiation across the ABB Robotics portfolio
- Building, maintaining, and expanding strong long-term relationships with key automotive customers
- Identifying customer needs and translating them into tailored solutions in collaboration with technical and sales colleagues
- Promotion of the complete ABB Robotics portfolio and defining strategic focus areas to further develop the business at key customers
- Supporting the Sales Manager in executing the sales strategy and achieving sales targets
- Preparing and participating in negotiations with customers, focusing on sustainable value creation
- Monitoring customer satisfaction, conducting follow-ups, and driving actions to continuously improve the customer experience
- Coordination of the internal sales teams, including service and technical support, both locally and internationally
- Strategic support for other countries in pricing, technical standards, and references
- Staying up to date on trends and developments in the automotive industry and sharing insights with the team
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in account management, sales/sales support, or business development within the automotive or automation industry
- Strong skills in customer relationship management and negotiation
- Good understanding of automation solutions and ideally automotive plant engineering
- Ability to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions with cross-functional teams
- Degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field
- Excellent communication skills in English and fluency in German
