About the Role
In this role, you will serve as a Contract Manager, primarily supporting the Sales organization of the Marine and Ports division within the Process Automation business. This diverse role is characterized by versatility and exciting challenges. Your focus will be on the full spectrum of fundamental contract law and commercial matters. You are comfortable working collaboratively in changing teams, and you are motivated by process improvements and workflow optimization. You approach tasks professionally and with clear goals. Key Responsibilities
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Drafting, negotiating, and concluding individual and framework agreements (especially purchase and work contracts)
- Reviewing, interpreting, and commenting on contracts as well as identifying risks in tenders and contractual agreements
- Supporting and conducting contract award negotiations and risk reviews
- Managing the internal contract database and coordinating division-specific signature regulations
- Supporting quotation preparation and executing claim management (including preparation, enforcement, and defense)
- Conducting internal training sessions on contract management
- Collaborating closely with the Legal department in Germany
Qualifications
- Successfully completed studies in business administration, commercial law, or a comparable field — alternatively, completed commercial training with several years of relevant professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in contract law, including contract drafting and review
- Solid knowledge of German civil law (BGB), particularly in the area of obligations
- Negotiation-level language skills in German and English
- High level of assertiveness, independence, and a hands-on mentality
- Strong willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing market conditions
- Willingness to travel occasionally
