ABB System Drives is the market leader in high-power, high-performance drives, drive systems and packages for industrial process and large infrastructure applications, and a leading supplier of power conversion equipment for renewable energy and other applications. The Division offers global support to help customers, partners and equipment manufacturers with asset reliability, performance improvement and energy efficiency in mission critical applications.

Role Overview

Reports to: Senior Engineering Manager

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

Responsibilities

• Develop low voltage power modules (include AC/DC, AC/DC/AC, DC/DC or DC/AC) or perform iterative product development
• Analyze the performance of the existing low voltage power modules (include AC/DC, AC/DC/AC or DC/AC), identify areas for improvement and alternative solutions
• Design of new and improved low voltage power modules (include AC/DC, AC/DC/AC, DC/DC or DC/AC), especially main circuit design
• Perform tests on low voltage power modules (include AC/DC, AC/DC/AC, DC/DC or DC/AC) and whole low voltage system (functional test, type tests, reliability tests…), analyze tests results, propose improvement proposal if has and further improvement

Qualifications

• Master degree from Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation or related area
• Experience with low voltage power modules or similar products that use power electronics components
• Fluent in English, positive attitude and a team player

Preferred Qualifications

• Agile development environment working experience
• Experience on system design
• Familiarity with the main circuit related to DFIG wind, full power wind, solar inverter, energy storage system
• Knowledge on testing and certification related work in low voltage power module, related actual experience
• Knowledge on reliability design related work in LV power electronics related products, actual experience
• Familiarity with testing and corresponding testing instruments
