As part of our strategic growth, we are hiring a new Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Transformation Lead for our Motion Business Area (BA).

As FP&A Transformation Lead you will be accountable for driving the evolution, governance and effectiveness of FP&A Planning & Performance Management (PPM) processes within Motion, in line with the Finance Transformation Program (FTP) and in close alignment with Group FP&A and Group Controlling, as well as Global Divisions.

You will act as a senior orchestrator and change leader for FP&A, ensuring that business requirements are clearly articulated, prioritized and met, while enabling strong adoption, consistency and end-to-end thinking across FP&A processes.

The position requires solid FP&A background, strategic judgement, strong stakeholder management and the ability to take informed decisions leveraging on new technologies (AI, etc.).

While this role is open globally, preferred locations are set in our main Motion locations across Europe.

Key responsibilitiesFP&A Transformation & Governance

  • Provide direction, governance and senior oversight for the evolution of Motion FP&A processes, ensuring stability, clear ownership and alignment with new Group standards and requirements.
  • Lead the Motion FP&A transition to new Management Reporting (MR) and Group Reporting (GR) processes, covering Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and other financial KPIs, ensuring consistency and end-to-end implementation across the Motion Business Area (BA).
  • Support, from a Motion BA perspective, the transition and stabilization of planning processes in SAC, ensuring business readiness criteria are met, processes are clearly defined, and integration with existing FP&A cycles is effective.
  • Ensure business requirements are clear, relevant and value adding; actively challenge timelines, interdependencies, ambiguity, gaps, misalignment and potential scope deviations.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, collaborating with stakeholders to resolve issues and enable pragmatic solutions.
  • Take a leadership role in prioritization, tradeoff discussions, and escalation of risks, dependencies or misalignments impacting FP&A processes.
  • Act as a back‑up for Planning activities when needed, contributing to the resilience and stability of FP&A processes and supporting continuity during key planning cycles.

Coordination Across FP&A Processes

  • Serve as the senior coordination point between Group FP&A and Group Controlling, transformation teams, Motion FP&A, Division FP&A teams and peers in other Business Areas.
  • Proactively managing dependencies, interfaces, and decision points across multiple stakeholders and initiatives.
  • Actively contributes to FP&A Communities of Practice, ensuring tangible outcomes and visible value.

Leadership Support & Strategic Enablement

  • Be the recognized first point of contact and key user in Motion for FP&A related topics in the finance transformation program
  • Provide structure, continuity, and clarity across transformation initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Motion FP&A teams and Division CFOs to enable the transition towards a more scalable, resilient and insight driven FP&A organization.

Qualifications &Leadership Profile

  • Master's degree in finance or equivalent, with 15+ years of progressive finance experience demonstrating mastery in FP&A, finance transformation, and enterprise systems (e.g., CFIN, SAC, Global BW, SAP/ERP platforms).
  • Strategic Financial Acumen: Proven ability to translate complex financial data across P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow into actionable insights that drive business value and inform senior leadership decision-making.
  • Digital & Data Excellence: Advanced proficiency with modern finance technology ecosystems (Microsoft 365, Power BI, advanced analytics platforms) combined with sophisticated data literacy and the ability to architect and leverage finance data models, reporting solutions.
  • Technology savviness & interest: Prior exposure to ABB technological landscape including key SAP/ERPs & systems, and ability to leverage emerging technology (generative & agentic AI, etc.).
  • Innovation in Finance Operations: Demonstrated capability to embed advanced analytics, AI-enabled automation, and predictive insights into FP&A processes, enhancing decision quality and operational efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Influence & Collaboration: Strong communicator with proven ability to simplify complexity, build alignment across senior and operational stakeholders, and drive informed decision-making in highly international and matrix environments.
  • Change Leadership & Strategic Execution: Change-driven leader with structured problem-solving approach, sound strategic judgment, and proven capability to lead enterprise transformations while maintaining pragmatic, outcome-oriented delivery focus.
  • Confident & Constructive Governance: Demonstrates balanced leadership style with the confidence to constructively challenge assumptions, escalate appropriately, and maintain stakeholder engagement through solution-oriented approaches.
  • Agile & Global Mindset: Comfortable operating effectively in complex, dynamic environments, seamlessly integrating global and local perspectives while driving progress across multiple stakeholders without formal authority.
