In this position, you will be the expert in writing competitive bids, estimates and quotations for customers for PAEN Business line Blending EMEA industrial production projects in the lubricants, paints, chemicals and paper industries in Aix-les-Bains. Reporting to the Global Proposal Manager, your attention to detail and ability to communicate with multiple partners will be essential to this key component of project planning.

Reports to: Global Proposals Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely formulation of bid documents, in coordination with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage all aspects of bids - including technical, financial and product management, as well as risk assessment
  • Work in support of the sales team and relationship with the process person to prepare bids
  • Know how to read and interpret the PFDs to send the RFQs
  • Centralize the returns and build the cost sheet in Excel and write the offers in Word
  • Consult with internal departments (Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, Planning, Logistics) to identify project deadlines and guarantee quality offers
  • Contribute to an efficient and positive customer relationship throughout the sales process
  • Review and report on tender results and identify areas for improvement to increase success rate
  • Interact with local ABB counterparts based in the countries where the customers are based
  • Coordinate with the various stakeholders to adapt the scope of work and supply with the most relevant repartition with other Local BL blending

Your Background

  • Ideally with a 4/5 year degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 1 year experience in the field of bid preparation, as a Quotation Specialist or Bid Manager with a first successful experience in the heavy industry market (paper, oil, chemical engineering)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in written English, all files are written in English
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security regulations: HSE is everyone's business
