Job Description:

Analyst – Legal will be part of the Global Legal Service Center (GLSC) and will perform legal tasks in support of 3M Legal Affairs assisting in various aspects of legal work related to one or more general practice areas, including, but not limited to, Business Counsel, Employment and Benefits, and Legal Operations. This position will report to the GLSC Multiple Pillar Lead and work closely with the GLSC Multiple Pillar Lead and respective stakeholders. The Analyst-Legal is an experienced legal professional with foundational knowledge of corporate legal practice and multi-regional stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of a supervisor and within established guidelines:

• Review marketing, promotional, and other business collaterals for legal compliance against approved standards, playbooks, and checklists
• Identify risks related to claims substantiation, required disclaimers, regulated content, and use of trademarks, images, and third‑party materials
• Apply consistent judgment and escalate issues outside defined parameters
• Support additional legal services and activities, which could include legal services related to the Business Counsel team and Employment and Benefits team
• Create, review and improve process documentation, quality reviews and reporting
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including adoption of legal technology and AI‑enabled tools, where appropriate

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials
• Minimum 4 years of experience in general legal services or in‑house legal support
• Strong legal judgment with the ability to apply rules, playbooks, and precedents consistently
• High attention to detail and comfort with high‑volume, repeatable work
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to explain issues clearly and concisely
• Ability to learn new subject matter, tools, and processes quickly and manage projects efficiently
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders

Preferred / Differentiating Qualifications:

• Experience reviewing marketing, advertising, or promotional materials
• Familiarity with regulated claims, disclaimers, and product communications
• Exposure to legal operations, process optimization, or shared service environments
• Comfort in working with legal technology, workflow tools, and AI‑enabled review systems
• Additional legal certifications or relevant continuing legal education
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
