BTS Associate Consultant – MES /PIMS (Manufacturing)
ZS is seeking an experienced MES / PIMS Subject Matter Expert who will drive the design, implementation, and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Plant Information Management Systems (PIMS) within regulated pharmaceutical environments.
This role focuses on bridging manufacturing operations, compliance, and technology, ensuring that digital solutions enable efficiency, traceability, and regulatory adherence. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on experience with MES/PIMS platforms and deep understanding of pharma manufacturing processes—from batch execution and electronic batch records to data contextualization and performance analytics. The position also demands familiarity with current Industry 4.0 integration frameworks, UNS, and MCP concepts for connected plants.
What you’ll do:
-
Lead or support the end to end design and deployment of MES and PIMS solutions aligning with manufacturing workflows (Batch Execution, EBR, Process Data Acquisition, OEE Monitoring).
-
Serve as SME for pharma manufacturing operations, mapping process requirements into digital system configurations in compliance with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11 guidelines.
-
Collaborate with IT and automation teams to integrate MES/PIMS with related enterprise systems—ERP (SAP), LIMS, QMS, and data platforms—using standards such as ISA 95, OPC UA, and MQTT.
-
Ensure system configurations meet validation and data integrity requirements (ALCOA+, CSV/CSA approach) and maintain appropriate documentation.
-
Bridge plant floor equipment (PLC, SCADA, historians) data into enterprise applications through secure interfaces and data contextualization models.
-
Contribute to initiatives involving Unified Namespace architectures, Manufacturing Connectivity Platforms, IIoT implementations, or cloud enabled MES solutions.
-
Recommend enhancements to manufacturing data utilization, KPI definitions, and analytics enablement for process optimization and decision support.
-
Partner with manufacturing, quality, automation, and IT stakeholders to harmonize processes and technology objectives across global operations.
-
Engage with global manufacturing leaders on digital plant and manufacturing transformation programs, focusing on MES/PIMS modernization and IT OT convergence.
-
Work with next generation Industry 4.0 frameworks, including Unified Namespace, MCP, digital twin, and advanced data analytics.
-
Collaborate with experts in automation, data engineering, and architecture to deliver integrated and compliant manufacturing solutions.
What you'll bring:
-
6–9 years of professional experience with at least 4 years in MES / PIMS functional deployment or manufacturing systems integration within pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing.
