Internal Controls Coordinator

About the team:

Our Shared Services team in Monterrey, NL plays a critical role in supporting ZF’s global operations by delivering high-quality finance and accounting services with a strong focus on compliance, transparency, and continuous improvement. The team works closely with regional and corporate stakeholders, audit partners, and operating units to ensure robust internal controls and a strong control culture across the organization. Collaboration, accountability, and professional growth are key elements of how we work every day.

What you can look forward to as Internal Controls Coordinator:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with Corporate Internal Control System (ICS) policies and standards.
• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve ICS procedures within the Shared Services Center.
• Train and support Accounting teams (AP, AR, GL) on ICS requirements and control execution.
• Coordinate and manage internal control testing, including design and operating effectiveness testing.
• Act as the main point of contact for Internal and External Audit teams regarding ICS matters.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual ICS reporting packages for headquarters.
• Identify control gaps, assess risks, and drive remediation plans in cooperation with stakeholders.
• Promote a strong internal control culture and support continuous compliance awareness.

Your Profile as Internal Controls Coordinator:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 2–4 years in GL and Tax
• Strong knowledge of MX and US GAAP and IFRS
• Proven experience with internal controls, audits, and compliance frameworks
• Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP/QAD knowledge preferred
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and facilitation skills
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, and a proactive, organized work style
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) with high verbal and written fluency (80–90%)
