Job Description

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN JOB FUNCTION:

  • Responsible for repairs and troubleshooting of production equipment and building systems to maintain facility in peak operating condition. Major systems include, but not limited to; Mechanical Devices, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, HVAC, Fire protection, Electrical Distribution, Electrical Controls, and more.

  • Inspection of equipment and assembly processes to prevent damage and/or determine root cause of malfunction or damage

  • Reading blueprints, schematics, logic diagrams, maintenance manuals and catalogs to install, troubleshoot and repair equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, de-bug and program PLC5, SLC500, Micrologic Controllers, Siemans PLCs and Variable Speed Drives.

  • Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.

  • Performs related tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Effectively work interact with supervisors, production/logistics personnel, and maintenance team members

  • Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Math skills to include but not limited to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Problem solving skills to include 5-Why and Fishbone diagrams

  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

  • Effective knowledge of Predictive and Preventive maintenance principles

  • Fundamentals of AC/DC electricity, motors and motor controls, transformers, automatic controls, hydraulics & pneumatics, machine tool technology, and welding.

  • Minimum of three years combination of education, training, and a minimum of (1) year maintenance experience

  • Experience in a JIT manufacturing environment
