­Project Description:

Technical or Engineering Intern supporting the Converged Environment

Xcel Energy is seeking candidates to support the Converged environment in Golden, CO. The paid internship will provide valuable experience and training in the virtualization environment, specifically v Sphere. The Converged environment supports myriad critical applications in a cloud environment. Candidates would get exposure to the underlying hardware enabling the sharing of physical resources, CPUs, RAM, Disk, and Networking. Also, the intern will get familiar with our asset management/ticketing tool, Service Now.

Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Asset management in Service Now

• Supporting the underlying infrastructure for the Converged environment

• Patching/updating Dell and Cisco hardware

• Support and get familiar with Aria Suite

• Support and get familiar with v Sphere, VCF, and v Center

• Troubleshoot issues in v Sphere

This position is for a June 1st, 2026 start date. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current student, Sophomore or Junior status only (as of Fall 2026).

• Enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering.

• Able to commute to the Lookout Center location in Golden CO or corporate office in Denver, CO - Hybrid Schedule

• Able to work part time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week).

Preferred Qualifications

• 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher

• Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in Computer Science/Computer Engineering

• Knowledge of Unix/Windows/Virtualization

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.90 to $23.10 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
