About the Team
The Talent Acquisition Product Development team is at the heart of Workday Recruiting, empowering recruiters to quickly and effectively collaborate with hiring managers to grow their teams, nurture internal and external candidate relationships from source to hire, and deliver a delightful, personalised candidate experience.

About the Role
As a Senior Engineer / Tech Lead on the Talent Acquisition Product Development team, you will be a hands-on technical leader working closely with scrum teams, product managers, and business partners across product boundaries. You will design and build scalable, highly performant, and resilient solutions that support the needs of our 60 million+ users around the world.A key focus of this role will bebuilding APIs on top of new and existing functionality, as well as developing the agentic tooling layer that sits above them. All development is cloud-native, on a single codeline, enabling rapid iteration through our continuous development model.

Drive the design and development of scalable, highly performant, and highly available enterprise application solutions — including APIs and agentic tooling — that directly impact our global user base.

Innovate constantly while delivering efficient, robust, and maintainable code within an object-oriented framework.

Champion code quality by delivering reliable unit, integration, and system-level tests that run on our continuous delivery pipeline, ensuring robust and stable production systems.

Partner effectively with product managers and senior partners to shape and drive the product vision.

Communicate complex technical ideas simply and effectively to support informed decision-making with senior leadership.

Coach and mentor team members to deliver to high standards, actively contributing to pair programming, interactive code reviews, design reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and innovation-focused hackathons.

Collaborate cross-functionally with local and remote technical teams, ensuring we consistently deliver the best possible solutions to our customers.
About You
Basic Qualifications
-
8+ years of experience with web application development and/or SaaS (Software as a Service).
-
2+ years experience with Python
-
Extensive development experience with object-oriented languages at a senior level (e.g., Java, C#, Python).
-
A deep understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., design patterns, data structures, algorithms) and the ability to demonstrate their application in recent project work.
Other Qualifications

A collaborative team player with clear communication skills who proactively solves problems and takes full accountability for your code from development through production.

Experience leading the technical delivery of innovative and complex business functionality.

Understanding of performance engineering and performance testing principles.

Team leadership and/or Agile leadership experience.

Experience with integration technologies (e.g., RESTful APIs, message queues).

Exposure to modern UI technologies such as React.

Experience with metadata-driven development, contributing to highly configurable and adaptable platforms.
