About the Team

Workday People Analytics is an AI fueled analytical platform for HR that helps to make better and faster people decisions. It delivers insights, highlighting areas of focus without lifting a finger. Workday People Analytics helps bridge that gap with pre-built analytics, giving you automated and targeted insights in easy-to-understand stories. It’s essentially your analyst in a box!

Among our differentiation in this space is our proprietary Storyteller technology which automatically surfaces the most relevant insights for your business in natural language, doing the heavy lifting for users by sifting through millions of combinations of data.

About the Role

As Python Software Development Engineer:

, you will be a key contributor to the evolution of the Storyteller platform. You will: -Develop & Optimize:

Build and maintain high-performance Python code, identifying bottlenecks and implementing architecture changes to improve runtime and memory efficiency.

  • Collaborate:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable data pipeline components and feature sets.

  • Full-Stack Exposure:

Contribute to the broader platform ecosystem, including data pipelines and backend services (potentially touching Kotlin/Spring or TypeScript/React as needed).

  • Quality & Support:

Take ownership of code quality through rigorous testing and provide ongoing maintenance and support for the PPLA product suite.

  • Technical Mentorship:

Provide peer code reviews and share best practices with the team to maintain high engineering standards.

About You Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience with Python.

  • Solid understanding of software design patterns and enterprise-level architecture.

  • Proven experience in performance optimization and managing scalable software operations.

  • Strong experience working in a TDD (Test-Driven Development) environment.

  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global team.

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience with Docker and containerized environments.

  • Knowledge of data processing, data analysis, or ETL pipelines.

  • Familiarity with BI, analytics, or data visualization tools is a significant plus.

  • Understanding of software security best practices.
