Jobs
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the world’s first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to transform how we deliver our customer support experience to build a globally scalable and cost-effective model for our future.
The role is a unique opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in North America. With over 15 million happy customers we’re already moving more than £9 billion a month and have more than 2,500 people in our operations functions across the US, Estonia, Hungary and Singapore and 800 in Product and engineering. We serve a wide range of customers from personal users, freelancers, small businesses to enterprise businesses and banks.
You will be one of the first members of the newly set-up function that creates a bridge between Product and Engineering and Operations teams. This new function sits in our Business Operations organisation and will be responsible for running large scale transformational projects that impact multiple functions in our servicing organisation.
Your Mission:
-
Project & Programme Delivery: Create robust governance and drive the execution of large-scale, multidimensional projects. You will manage the entire project lifecycle, from discovery and solution design to technical and operational implementation.
-
Cross-Functional Leadership: Own critical cross-functional projects, with a key focus on areas like remediations and Fincrime. You will work closely with partners in Product, Engineering, Customer Support, KYC, Fin Crime, and Payment Operations to deliver results.
-
Strategic Impact: Work on the top Product and operational initiatives across Wise and secure executive sponsorship to execute them.
-
Governance & Risk Management: Leverage your project governance expertise to manage scope, timelines, communications, and accountability. You will proactively identify, track, and manage delivery risks, ensuring robust mitigation plans are in place while adhering to regulatory requirements.
-
Data-Driven Success: Clearly define what success looks like for your projects and evaluate progress using a blend of qualitative and quantitative methods to demonstrate impact.
A bit about you:
-
Extensive Experience: You have 6+ years of experience in project or programme management, or a background in building products at scale with a deep understanding of organisational complexity.
-
Proven Methodologies: You have a proven track record of managing complex, multi-phase projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. You are skilled in creating high-quality project plans, breaking down tasks, mapping dependencies, and identifying the critical path.
-
Influential Leader: You are a natural leader who can influence people without direct authority and can act as a player-coach, switching effortlessly between being an individual contributor and leading a wider team.
-
Data-Driven: You are highly data-driven. You know how to gather and interpret data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and tell compelling stories that inspire action.
-
Problem Solver: You possess strong decision-making skills and expertise in overcoming complex challenges. You question the status quo, bring fresh ideas, and can formulate actionable plans to bring them to life.
-
Excellent Communicator: You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and are adept at presenting complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences, from senior leadership to operational teams.
-
Autonomous Operator: You excel at resolving challenges, making impactful decisions, and acting autonomously to drive your projects forward.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
-
Choose your path to impact: We believe people are most empowered when they can act autonomously. You’ll work with your team to create your own vision and will have the freedom to make your own calls.
-
Grow as a leader: You will have the chance to grow and inspire team members, helping to build out the programme management function within Business Operations.
-
Gain unique exposure: Get fantastic exposure to the full breadth and depth of our product and operational world, from customer service and fincrime to regional expansion and new product launches.
-
Be part of the mission: Play a key role in our mission to make money without borders the new normal.
Nice to have’s:
-
Experience with Jira and Atlassian products.
-
Experience working with product and engineering teams on the implementation of large-scale technical projects or programs.
