We’re looking for an Emerging Currencies Product Specialist to join our team.:

This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wise’s mission by contributing to building and supporting operationally sustainable cross-border products and help save millions more people money.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive Strategy: Connect your work to our overall payment operations goals, balancing new ideas with getting things done.

  • Lead Projects: Take charge of projects from start to finish, including planning, testing, and making improvements.

  • Scale Operations: Find ways to make our payment processes more efficient, reduce risks, and increase automation for both new and existing products. This includes helping launch new payment routes and ensuring they are operationally scalable from day one.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with engineering, risk, compliance, customer support, and finance teams to launch new products and improve existing ones.

  • Manage Issues: Be the first point of contact for issues in your area, working with risk teams to solve problems.

  • Track Performance: Set and monitor key metrics (KPIs) for your domain, using data to show impact and guide improvements.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced: You have a background in payment operations or a similar analytical role, ideally in Fin Tech. Knowledge of Latam or MEA payment markets is a plus.

  • Problem Solver: You can identify problems, understand their impact, and break them down to find solutions.

  • Data-Savvy: You're comfortable using data to analyze performance, identify issues, and make decisions.

  • Efficiency-Focused: You're always looking for ways to reduce manual work and increase automation.

  • Team Player: You communicate well and enjoy working with different teams to achieve common goals.

  • Takes Ownership: You're proactive, take responsibility for your work, and learn from experience.

  • Adaptable: You can quickly learn new things and adjust to changing situations.

  • Impact-Driven: You focus on delivering results that improve key operational metrics.

  • Tech-Curious: You use AI to help with your tasks or are willing to learn how to leverage new technologies for efficiency.

  • Payments ops (or closely related) experience in a Fin Tech / cross-border payments context (or strong equivalent operational + analytical experience).

  • End-to-end project ownership: ability to lead initiatives from planning → testing → launch → iteration.

  • Operational scalability mindset: proven ability to improve processes, reduce operational risk, and increase automation / remove manual work.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with teams like Engineering, Risk, Compliance, Customer Support, Finance (ability to align and execute with multiple stakeholders).

  • Issue / incident ownership: comfortable being the first point of contact, triaging, coordinating resolution, and driving fixes with risk/other teams.

  • Data-driven decision making: able to define, track, and use KPIs to identify problems, quantify impact, and demonstrate improvements.

  • Structured problem solving: can break down ambiguous problems, prioritize, and deliver practical outcomes (“balance new ideas with getting things done”).

  • Ownership + proactivity: takes responsibility, follows through, learns fast, and adapts to change.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of Lat Am and/or MEA payment markets (routes, local rails, providers, operational constraints).

  • Exposure to risk/compliance controls in payments operations (e.g., fraud/AML ops interfaces, operational risk management).

  • Stronger technical edge: experience partnering deeply with engineering on automation, tooling, or workflow improvements (even if not coding).

  • AI/tooling fluency: actively uses AI or is demonstrably quick to adopt it to speed up analysis, documentation, monitoring, or ops workflows.

  • Experience in metrics design beyond basics (dashboards, leading indicators, SLA/quality metrics, experimentation/impact measurement).

  • The monthly salary for the position is R$ 11.700

  • This is a hybrid position located in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and not fully remote (minimum 3 days at office). You must be able to commute to the office or open to relocation

  • You’re eligible to work in Brazil, we cannot sponsor Visas for this role.
