Job Summary:
The English–Japanese Interpreter facilitates verbal communication between English- and Japanese-speaking individuals or groups in meetings, conferences, business negotiations, and other professional settings. The interpreter ensures that messages are conveyed accurately, maintaining the speaker’s intent, tone, and cultural nuances.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between English and Japanese during IT service meetings, technical discussions, customer support calls, and project briefings.

Accurately convey information, ensuring clarity and precision in terminology related to business and IT service is a plus.

Prepare for sessions by reviewing relevant technical materials and understanding the context of the discussion.

Assist in interpreting during remote meetings or on-site visits with customers.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as an interpreter (English ↔ Japanese) in IT or manufacturing industory, technical support.

Native-level fluency in Japanese and near-native fluency in English.

Excellent listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills.

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with cultural sensitivity.
Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in interpretation (e.g., NAATI, JTF, or other recognized bodies).

Experience with remote interpretation tools (Teams, or specialized interpreting platforms).

Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) or project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
